The Canadian government stated, all those employers who need a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for Temporary Foreign Worker Program of Canada, the first step they need to take is,  submit their application as early as possible to avoid worsening delays.
Employers can hire foreign workers on a temporary basis through
    TFWP (Temporary Foreign Worker Program)
    IMP (international Mobility Program)

In month of October, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) published a notice. It stated Temporary Foreign Worker Program of Canada is presently experiencing growth in the volume of LMIA application and for coming months, processing times are expected to rise.

We are putting all efforts possible to make sure to lower the impact on employers looking to hire the services of temporary foreign workers. The notice further added, we suggest employers submit their application as early as possible to avoid any additional delay.

The LMIA offers confirmation that a specific employer has followed the essential steps to hire a worker, who is a Canadian citizen or Canada Permanent Resident for the position they are looking forward to employing foreign labour.

In the recent months, the LMIA processing time increased dramatically for programs relating to Temporary Foreign Worker other than the Global Talent Stream.
The Global Talent stream targets skilled workers in varied specialized occupations. It provides fast-track work permits and the standard time taken to process the above application is around ten business days.

Canada's Temporary Foreign Worker Program, ESDC revealed the primary cause for the delay were technical issues relating to its transition to a new platform to asses LMIA Applications.

How to find whether you require LMIA?
There exist two ways, wherein you can find out whether you need an LMIA. The first one, review the LMIA exemption codes list by self and second way is, you can get in touch with International Mobility Workers unit to seek help.
